Death and Taxes update .01

Sun May 14, 2006, 3:51 PM
Ok so here is my first update. I have crunched all the numbers and have come up with the master totals.

Here they are.

Total discretionary federal spending for 2007 is at 923 Billion

Military spending is at 529 Billion

and non-military is at 364 Billion

that is a 60/40 split folks.

I have the department circles all set now i just have to go by department and grind them out.

Beware.

Don't say what you mean you might spoil your face.

Does your budget map adjust for crosscutting?

For example, the Department of Defense sends money to other programs
$926M to Federal Drug Control
$2M in aid to State and Local governments
$74B for Federal Research and Development
$5.9B for Federal Science and Technology
$16.7B for Homeland Security

There are plenty more examples.

I think a more complete budget picture is important if your product is going to be used to make a political statement. Well, it is important if an accurate political statement is to be made.

I really liked the one you made in 2004 and am looking forward to this one (missed it in 2005).

By the way, those are 2007 requested amounts.
:iconmibi:
yes the 2007 version will be much more detailed an accurate... as you know the military is spread out all over the federal government... not just the DoD.

thanks
